OUR VISION

Taking people into daily encounters with God that will lead to the cultivating and sustaining of revival.

  • Jesus Christ is eternally God. He was together with the Father and the Holy Spirit from the beginning, and through Him all things were made. For man’s redemption, He left heaven and became incarnate by the Holy Spirit through the virgin Mary; henceforth, He is forever one Christ with two natures—God and man—in one person.

  • We affirm that the Bible, containing the Old and New Testaments, is alone the only infallible, inspired Word of God, and that its authority is ultimate, final, and eternal. It cannot be added to, subtracted from, or superseded in any regard. The Bible is the source of all doctrine, instruction, correction, and reproof. It contains all that is needed for guidance in godliness and practical Christian conduct.

  • It is the testimony of both the Old and New Testaments and of the Christian Church that God is both One and Triune. The biblical revelation testifies that there is only one God and that He is eternally existent in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • The Holy Spirit is God, the Lord and giver of life, who was active in the Old Testament and given to the Church in fullness at Pentecost. He empowers the saints for service and witness, cleanses man from the old nature and conforms us to the image of Christ. The baptism in the Holy Spirit, subsequent to conversion, releases the fullness of the Spirit and is evidenced by the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit.

  • We believe in unconditional love for everyone while remaining unwavering in our loyalty to God’s Holy Word. We believe that because God our Creator established marriage as a sacred institution between one man and one woman, the idea that marriage is a covenant only between one man and one woman has been the traditional definition of marriage for all of human history (“Traditional Definition of Marriage”). Because of the longstanding importance of the Traditional Definition of Marriage to humans and their relationships and communities, and, most importantly, the fact that God has ordained that marriage be between one man and one woman, as clearly conveyed in God’s inerrant Scriptures, including for example in Matthew 19:4-6 where in speaking about marriage Jesus referred to the fact that “he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,” the Church hereby creates this policy, which shall be known as the “Marriage Policy.”

  • The Word of God declares clearly that salvation is a free gift of God, based on the merits of the death of His Son, and is appropriated by faith. The new life in Jesus Christ includes the privileges of adoption into God’s family and an inheritance in the kingdom of God’s beloved Son. Salvation is an act of free will in response to God’s personal love for mankind.

  • We believe that heaven and hell are real places. There will be a resurrection of the lost and the saved, the one to everlasting death and the other to everlasting life.

Our ValueS

  • REVIVAL STARTS WITH ME

If we want to see true revival started and sustained, in our homes, businesses, and nation, then we must first seek God for a revival in our own hearts. This starts with us getting hungry. Hunger for God looks like doing whatever it takes to continue to grow in Him. This can include reading your Bible and praying daily, fasting, preaching the Gospel, seeking discipleship and impartation, and more.

    ACTS 3:19, JOHN 14:12-14, JOHN 15:13-14, MARK 16:17-18, EPHESIANS 2:10

  • WE ARE A PEOPLE AFTER HIS OWN HEART

Jesus is our first love. Nothing is higher, better, or more fulfilling than Him. It is our highest priority to worship, enjoy, and obey Him. Nothing and nobody can take His place.

    ACTS 13:22, REVELATION 2:2-5, LEVITICUS 6:12-13

  • WE ARE GOOD STEWARDS

Everything we have belongs to God. The way we steward our life on earth directly impacts our reward in heaven. As a church family, we seek to live our whole life with excellence, generosity, honor, and wisdom. When given the choice between an ownership or employment mentality, we choose the third option—stewardship.

    COLOSSIANS 3:23, MATTHEW 25:14-30, 1 KINGS 3:16-28, PSALMS 24:1, 1 CORINTHIANS 3:10-15

  • WE FEAR THE LORD

In our world, and even in the Church at large, there is often a mixture of beliefs and idolatry. We are committed to maintaining a healthy, daily fear of God in all aspects of our lives.

    PROVERBS 1:7, PROVERBS 8:13, LUKE 12:4-5, PSALM 145:19

  • PRAY ALWAYS AND NEVER GIVE UP

God moves in response to our prayers. Repeatedly throughout scripture, we see that God is the God who responds to, and often waits upon, the petitions of His people to act. We are committed to persevere, to pray through all things, and to pray without ceasing.

    LUKE 18:1, LUKE 22:39-46, COLOSSIANS 4:2, JUDE 1:20, 1 CORINTHIANS 14:18, 1 THESSALONIANS 5:16-18

  • WE DON’T DO FAKE

We disciple through real relationships. We create an atmosphere for people to be open and honest by leading in vulnerability and transparency.

    2 CORINTHIANS 12:9, JAMES 5:16

  • OUR HEARTS, YOUR MIND

We empower those with a submitted heart. We trade empowerment for teachability and humility. Giving and receiving feedback will always be a part of the equation of empowerment.

    EXODUS 18:13-26, JAMES 4:10, PSALM 25:9

  • LET’S BE CLEAR

We choose to slow down and communicate clearly today, so that we can move faster tomorrow.

    ROMANS 14:19, JAMES 1:19

  • LEAN INTO AWKWARD TO BUILD COMMUNITY

We build the trust, unity, character, and relationships of tomorrow by engaging in the tough conversations today.

    MATTHEW 18:15-20, MATTHEW 5:24

  • GOVERNED BY HONOR

Honor reflects the values of heaven. It protects freedom, creates safe spaces, and reflects a kingdom identity. Honor is about self-control, not control over others.

    1 SAMUEL 2:30, ROMANS 12:10, 1 PETER 2:17, MATTHEW 10:41-42, MARK 6:1-6, PROVERBS 3:9-10

  • MAKE ME LIKE YOU JESUS

We simply want to be like Jesus—holy, set apart unto God, and fully surrendered to the Refiner’s fire. We know the closer we get to Him, the more we become like Him. Holiness is found in the presence of God. Our heart’s cry is this: “Make me like You, Jesus! Make me holy!”

    ROMANS 6:19, 1 PETER 1:15-16, HEBREWS 12:14, REVELATIONS 4:8, 1 THESSALONIANS 4:3-8

  • GREATNESS LOOKS LIKE SERVING

We are committed to servant leadership and leading by example. Without sacrificing our identity and authority, we choose to go low and serve those in our stewardship. Humility is viewing self through God’s eyes not just thinking of yourself in a negative way. This can be in the context of church leadership but also extends to our family, business, and all other relational dynamics.

PRESENCE

DRIVEN

We are not built around any person or ministry. We are built around the presence of God. We consistently ask God for His mind and His heart for His house.

(EXODUS 33:13-18, PSALM 105:4, PROVERBS 3:5-6)

DISCIPLESHIP

Healthy discipleship goes two ways: someone pouring into you and you pouring into someone else. We ask that everyone at our church seek out both of these types of discipleship relationships.

(MATTHEW 28:18-20, MARK 16:15-18, LUKE 6:12-13)

WOMEN

IN MINISTRY

We endorse and promote women in ministry. We empower women to fulfill the Biblical call of God on their lives.

(ACTS 2:17-18, JUDGES 4:4, JOHN 4:39, ACTS 21:8-9)

The Goodness

of God

When Moses asked to see the glory of God, God replied, “I will cause all my goodness to pass before you.” Repeatedly, we see that one of the first ways God chooses to reveal Himself is in His goodness and love. It is crucial that we keep God's goodness at the forefront of our hearts and minds, even when circumstances seem difficult or confusing.

(EXODUS 33:19, ACTS 10:38, JOHN 10:10)

ABODE Standards of Leadership

A PEOPLE AFTER HIS OWN HEART

DAILY ENCOUNTERS

There is only one way to God, and it’s through Jesus — but in Jesus, there are many ways to connect with God. We disciple people by helping them discover how they best connect with God and by teaching them to access the presence of God on a daily basis.

(MATTHEW 6:7-15, PROVERBS 8:34, JOHN 15:4, 1 SAMUEL 3:10)

TITHING

We honor the Lord with the tithe. With joy, we give to God our first and our best!

(GENESIS 14:18-20, GENESIS 28:20-22, DEUTERONOMY 14:22-29, LUKE 11:42, MATTHEW 6:33, 1 CORINTHIANS 9:7-14, 1 TIMOTHY 5:17-18, GALATIANS 6:6, LUKE 6:38, PROVERBS 3:9-10, MATTHEW 23:23, MALACHI 3:8-10)

THE GOSPEL

The Gospel truly is the supernatural power of God to save. People must be saved from hell, the devil, their sin, and Themselves. God will put people in front of us that need to be ministered to. We are ready to obey Jesus’ command to preach the gospel and to quickly obey the prompting of the Holy Spirit as He leads us to minister to others.

(ROMANS 1:16, JOHN 3:6-7, MARK 16:15, MATTHEW 28:18-20, HEBREWS 4:12, ROMANS 10:9-17)

SABBATH

We are committed to honor the principle of the Sabbath. We set apart one day a week and keep it holy unto the Lord. The Sabbath was made for us to rest, heal, and hear God.

(EXODUS 20:8, ISAIAH 56:2, MARK 2:27)

We’d love to have you.
